First trim any White Felt peeking out of the Red Hat. Be careful – don’t trim too much. Next Fine the center of the Hat and place a Pin to mark it.
The step creates a Loop to hang charlotte from. Start at the Left side of the Pin and then go down at the right side of the pin to create a Loop.
Repeat the last step to create a total of 2 Loops. Then we’ll start on the Blanket Stitch that goes all the way around the Hat. Insert Needle in between the 2 White Felt Pieces.
Come up at A the down at B (the back side – white felt). Make sure to have the floss under the Needle when pulling the Needle through. Continue Blanket Stitches around the Hat.
Finish going all the way around the Hat. Tie off and take the Needle through the White Felt layers and then to the back of the piece and cut. Next the Blanket Stitch around the Collar. Start the Blanket Stitch the same way the Blanket stitch was started on the Hat.
Continue the Blanket Stitch. On the last Stitch, connect to the collar (see above). Tie and take the Needle through the White Felt layers and then to the back of the piece and cut.
Repeat for other side of the Collar. Stitch a Whip Stitch, using 1 Strand of 6 Strand Floss – White around the outer parts of her face. Next Whip Stitch, using 1 Strand of 6 Strand Floss Dark Teal. Whip Stitch around the outer rim of the Hat.
Whip Stitch around the lower Collar, use 1 Strand of 6 Strand Floss. If White Felt is peeking out – trim slightly before stitching.
This is an Optional Step. You will need a way to apply the Powder Blush. Sponge applicators work great. A Cotton Ball wrapped in fabric works well. I always practice before actually blushing the Stitched piece. Use a paper towel. If it has a deep pattern – use the side that has the pattern depth less pronounced.
